INTELLIGENT POE PORT DISCONNECT FUNCTIONIt is not always entirely clear how the switch will behave when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several possibilities: a port that exceeds the budget will be disconnected, or a random or the latest one connected. In the last case, what will be their order after a power outage and its restoration when they are all plugged into the switch at the same time? Lanberg in the RS series switches has introduced an innovative solution that, through the simplicity of the principle of operation, eliminates any doubt about the mechanics of the operation of the ports. At the moment when the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g. by a device connected to port 1), the switch will start disconnecting PoE ports starting from the highest numbering until the sum of loads does not exceed the available budget; keeping the operation of the remaining ports intact. Those that are disconnected will remain in this state until the PoE load decreases. The feature is primarily dedicated to demanding applications that emphasize security and continuity of operation, where some devices must operate continuously regardless of the situation. In such cases, Lanberg switches will allow the user to protect sensitive devices by connecting them to the lowest numbered ports. |
EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METERS WITH VLANStandard switches, according to the standard, provide the ability for devices to operate up to 100 meters on a single section of cable.
